Phosphorescence
The ability of some fluorescent minerals to keep on glowing for several seconds after the fluorescent lamp has been removed. The effect may cause the mineral to visibly glow for only several seconds, but the phosphorescent effect lasts much longer beyond what the human eye can perceive.
