Description |
A superb, loose, model-like, text-book crystal of this species from its most important continental European locale. This crystal came to me with another such Bournonite, a matrix specimen, that retained a label that allowed it to be tracked back to the Harvard Mineralogical Museum. A telephone call to Dr. Carl Francis there was very fruitful. These specimens were, indeed, from the Harvard collection (as, apparently, is this one) and were purchased by Prof. Charles Palache around 1930 from a German dealer named Wendler. At any rate, by anyone's measure, a fine old German Bournonite thumber. |
