Well Crystallized Monazite Crystal
|
Collection |
Robert Lavinsky |
Description |
This Monazite crystal is a rare earth phosphate from the classic old REE enriched pegmatite in Norway. It is very well crystallized with good luster and a rich chocolate brown color. A superb example for its species from this particular locale, it is sharp and display-worthy. Old label is from a University Mineralogical Museum, presumably in Sweden or Norway given the last name of the collector or dealer who sold it last there (an O. Landsverk, in 1954). |
